Day 01 – Airport / Pinnawala / Sigiriya

Welcome on arrival at Colombo International Airport, transfer to Sigiriya. En – route visit the Elephant Orphanage at Pinnawela. In Pinnawala you can see the bottle feeding of baby Elephants, see them at play & accompany them to a river close by to see them having their daily bath (Optional).

Dinner & Overnight Stay At “The Sigiriya Village Hotel – Sigiriya”

Day 02 – Sigiriya

After early breakfast climb the 5th century A.D Rock Fortress (Optional). See the mural paintings of “Heavenly Maidens” over 1500 years old, which are in a sheltered pocket of the rock. Historians say originally there were close to 500 paintings but today only 19 exist. Also visit the water and rock gardens and the King’s bath on the 600 feet palace fortress.

Day 03 – Sigiriya/Dambulla/Matale/Kandy

Kandy, located in the Central Province of Sri Lanka is the second largest city in the country after Colombo. It was the last capital of the ancient kings’ era of Sri Lanka. The city lies in the midst of hills in the Kandy plateau, which crosses an area of tropical plantations, mainly tea. Kandy is both an administrative and religious city and is also the capital of the Central Province. Kandy is the home of The Temple of the Tooth Relic, one of the most sacred places of worship in the Buddhist world. It was declared a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1988.

En-route visits a Batik Factory and a Spice Garden at Matale. Here you would be shown the different varieties of spices grown and demonstration of their use & the famous Rock Cave Temples at Dambulla, the most visited monastery. It is the most impressive cave temple in Sri Lanka, with five caves under a vast overhanging rock, carved with a drip line to keep the interiors dry. There are images of the Buddha, and Gods and Goddesses. There are innumerable painted sculptures, including a life size effigy of the last Kandyan king and much older statues of Hindu gods.

Late afternoon visits to the Art and Crafts Centre, Gem Museum and Lapidary, and the world famous “Temple Of The Tooth Relic Of Lord Buddha” (Optional)

Day 04 – Kandy /Nuwara-Eliya

After breakfast, proceed to Nuwara Eliya.

Nuwara-Eliya – The “Little England” of Sri Lanka. The journey will take you through some of Sri Lanka’s beautiful scenic locations. Enjoy the drive through green carpeted areas of tea plantations. Nuwara-Eliya nesting below Pidurutalagala, Sri Lanka’s highest mountain is set against beautiful backdrops of Mountains, Valleys, Waterfalls and Tea Plantations – offers beauty unlimited.

En-route visit the Royal botanical gardens Perdeniya.

Royal Botanical Garden, Peradeniya is situated about 5.5 km to the west from the city of Kandy in the Central Province of Sri Lanka and attracts 2 million visitors annually. It is renowned for its collection of a variety of orchids. It includes more than 4000 species of plants, including of orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees. Attached to it is the National Herbarium of Sri Lanka. The total area of the botanical garden is 147 acres (0.59 km2), at 460 meters above sea level, and with a 200-day annual rainfall. It is managed by the Division of National Botanic Gardens of the Department of Agriculture. Later take a drive to visit a Tea Plantation and Factory & taste a fresh Cup of Ceylon Tea

Also visit the Hanuman Temple & Sita Amman Temple.

Dinner & Overnight Stay At “Hotel Araliya Green Hill – Nuwara-Eliya”

Day 05 –Nuwara-Eliya/ Yala

After breakfast direct to Yala through Nuwaraeliya.

Yala National Park is the most visited and second largest national park in Sri Lanka. The park consists of five blocks, two of which are now open to the public, and also adjoining parks. The blocks have individual names such as, Ruhuna National Park (block 1) and Kumana National Park or ‘Yala East’ for the adjoining area. It is situated in the southeast region of the country, and lies in Southern Province and Uva Province. The park covers 979 square kilometres (378 sq mi) and is located about 300 kilometres (190 mi) from Colombo. Yala was designated as a wildlife sanctuary in 1900, and, along with Wilpattu was one of the first two national parks in Sri Lanka, having been designated in 1938. The park is best known for its variety of wild animals. It is important for the conservation of Sri Lankan elephants, Sri Lankan leopards and aquatic birds.

Day 06 – Yala/ Galle/Hikkaduwa/ Beruwala

Early morning visit yala national park. On completion proceed to Beruwala via Galle/ Hikkaduwa.

Check in at the hotel by evening.

Dinner & Overnight Stay At “The Palms – Beruwala”

Day 07 – Beruwala

Relax by the beach

Day 08 – Beruwala/ Colombo

After breakfast proceed to Colombo for sightseeing & shopping.

Sightseeing tour of Colombo – visit the old Parliament, the colonial buildings in the Fort area, the residential areas and the BMICH (Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall).

The tour continues with a visit to Captains Garden, Hindu Temple, Colombo Museum and the Independence Square (locations could be adjusted on Request).

Shopping is something that will never end in Colombo. The shopping tour shall be inclusive of a visit to the Majestic City shopping Complex, ODEL Unlimited Dress Boutique, House of Fashion, Ceramic cooperation show room (Noritake), Barefoot Gallery and Lakmedura handicraft Emporium & “The Factory Outlet” Store. Return to hotel by evening.

Dinner & Overnight Stay At “Hotel Galadari – Colombo”

Day 09 – Colombo/ Airport

After breakfast proceed to the Airport to take the connecting flight on time.
